Adapalene 0.3%, Benzyl Peroxide 2.5%
3 Steps to Get Started
Epiduo® Forte Gel 0.3%/2.5% Pump contains Adapalene and Benzoyl Peroxide which work together but in different ways for the treatment of acne.
Adapalene is a type of retinoid. It works by exfoliating the skin (removing dead skin cells) to prevent blocked pores and soothe inflammation. Benzoyl Peroxide is an antimicrobial agent that works to soften and peel the skin’s outer layer as well as tackle the microbes that can trigger acne.
The combination of the two active ingredients offers a comprehensive approach to acne treatment, making it an efficient choice for many individuals with acne-prone skin.
Adapalene and Benzoyl Peroxide together complement each other’s actions. On one hand, Adapalene promotes skin cell turnover and reduces inflammation, on the other, Benzoyl Peroxide fights acne-causing bacteria and mitigates excess sebum production.Â
Studies have shown that more than 70% of patients observed a huge reduction of inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne breakouts over a 12-week period by applying it once at night.
The main difference between these two medications is the strength of Adapalene:
Epiduo contains: Adapalene 0.1%, Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% - suited for ages 9 and above.
Epiduo Forte is stronger and contains: Adapalene 0.3%, Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% - suited for ages 12 and above.
If you forget to apply a dose of this medication, apply it as soon as you remember. Skip the dose if it is time for the next dose. Apply your next dose at the usual time. Do not apply two doses to make up for the missed dose.

Inform your healthcare professional if:Â
Avoid washing your face too often as this may increase the drying-out effect of your medication. Wash your face two to three times a day only.
Unless otherwise directed by your doctor, avoid using other “drying” preparations on the same treated areas to prevent severe irritations. These include harsh soaps and cleansers, alcoholic preparations and medicated cosmetics or soaps.Â
Avoid using Epiduo on areas where you have cuts, scrapes, sunburn or eczema.
Avoid staying directly under sunlight for long durations. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen product with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30 and wear protective clothing when you are exposed to direct sunlight.
Avoid applying heavy make-up and using oily cosmetics. It is recommended to choose make-up products with non-oily formulas.
Avoid getting Epiduo on your hair or coloured fabrics as it may bleach them and wash your hands thoroughly after you have used the medicine.
